Job Description:
TITLE: Engineer
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Must be able to improve manufacturing processes and controls for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency.
2. Able to independently manage projects and communicate progress to customer and management.
3. Designs, develops, and tests various tools, machinery and equipment needed for recommended manufacturing methods.
4. Must interface with purchasing, quality, sales, maintenance and production floor to complete assigned projects in a timely fashion.
5. Play a key implementation role for the continuous improvement, 5S, Kaizen.
6. Assist department supervisors with production issues, tooling design, material procurement and problem solving.
7. Must be highly motivated and organized to keep up with fast paced environment and multiple assignments.
8. Using SolidWorks and AutoCad to create drawings from complex solid model parts and assemblies.
9. Must be able and willing to conform to company specific procedures quickly.
10. Create models and assemblies from hand written sketches and verbal instructions.
11. Properly add hardware into assembly models and fully define mates.
12. Must be able to take old drawings and convert them into Solidworks.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelors degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering or technical degree with five (5) years equivalent practical experience with electric motors
2. 1-3 years experience in the field of engineering.
3. 1-3 years experience with AutoCad and SolidWorks required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Must be a hands-on person capable of working in a fast pace environment while having a high degree of attention to details.
2. Must be willing to work additional hours when required.
3. Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
4. CAD and SolidWorks proficiency required.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Problem analysis and problem resolution.
7. Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment.
8. Ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span.
9. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
